Transportation

Getting Around Town from Mitchell

Mitchell College and the New London community provide different types of transportation for students living at the College.

Getting Around Town

We encourage students to experience all that the community has to offer. We also realize that not all students have access to a car to get off campus, so there are several ways to get around.

Loop Shuttle

The office of Student Activities provides a loop shuttle on Wednesdays that will take students to locations in the greater New London/Waterford area. These locations include downtown New London, Wal-Mart, Target, The Crystal Mall, Regal Cinemas, Stop & Shop, and the New London Mall.

Local Bus Service

SEAT provides bus services to New London and the surrounding towns. Students can take the bus to shopping areas, Mystic, and other attractions. Some of the bus routes require transferring from one bus to another.

See below under Buses for contact information.

Taxi Service

Taxi service can be arranged through several different companies. See below under Taxis for contact information.

Thames and Mitchell College Holiday Break Transportation

For Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break and Spring Break (mandatory college shutdown periods), the office of Student Activities provides transportation to the New London train station, bus station, ferry, and T.F. Green Airport in Providence. Transportation to the bus station, train station, and ferry are free of charge. The shuttle to T.F. Green Airport is a $20 fee. Students who want to arrange transportation during shutdown periods must bring a copy of their itinerary to the office of Student Activities at least one week in advance.
